Agenda Item 5.0
Strategic Plan – 5.01
In 2019, CCSD59 facilitated a process to create a new Strategic Plan with input from stakeholder groups. After taking a pause to shift the district’s focus to serving students and families both in-person and remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, the work to implement the approved Strategic Plan can now continue.
On Monday, the board viewed a presentation and discussed the current status of plan implementation, which is on a five-year timeline. Highlights of the presentation included a summary of the district’s mission, vision, core values, and an in-depth discussion of the district’s four strategic goals:
- Student Growth and Achievement
- Inclusive Learning Environment
- Family and Community Partnerships
- Stewardship of Resources
Key performance indicators have been developed and were reviewed for each strategic goal, along with a review of workable steps to maximize student success.
With several systems tied to the Strategic Plan already in progress, the board also discussed next steps, including how progress will be measured and shared and how goals and strategies will be reviewed annually.
