Staff Celebrate Connected Educator Month
The month of October is Connected Educator Month, a celebration of community with educators of all levels and disciplines moving towards a fully networked and collaborative profession.
Convened by the connected educator community with the full support of the U.S. Department of Education, this event embraces the opportunity to connect all educators through the use of technology.
CCSD59 staff participated in this event through a variety of activities designed and facilitated by the district’s innovative learning coaches. Activities were themed around literacy to support the reading “wildfires” lit by this year’s thought leader, Dr. Steven Layne. These activities connected staff, shared instructional ideas, and modeled 21st century learning activities that amplify learning in classrooms.
The activities and resources are accessible through the Connected Educator Month webpage.
To bring this celebration to an end, we are excited to share a video that provides a great example of how the combination of student interest, innovative lesson design, technology access, and a lizard can create learning experiences that truly engage our 21st century students. Congratulations to all staff who participated in Connected Educators Month.
