Friendship Introduces New Principal William Timmins for 2019-2020 School Year
CCSD59 is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. William Timmins as the new principal of Friendship Junior High for the 2019-20 school year.
Mr. Timmins has been an educator for 13 years, serving 12 of those as a teacher and administrator in CCSD59. He has worked as an assistant principal at Friendship since 2014. Prior to that role, he was a teacher at Grove Junior High for seven years, working with science, applied technology, and instructional resources. He also spent one year at Jose de Diego Community Academy with Chicago Public Schools before arriving at CCSD59.
Mr. Timmins completed his undergraduate education at Depaul University and received his Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University.
“I want to thank Dr. Fessler, the Superintendent’s Leadership Team, and the Board of Education,” Mr. Timmins said at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, April 15. “I’m excited and extremely grateful for the opportunity to lead in this district and the chance to continue to work with the very talented, dedicated staff at Friendship.”
“Throughout the interview process, it was very encouraging to hear from people that I’ve worked with in the past. People that I admire supported me and that is something that filled my heart in a way that I was not ready for.”
His first assignment as Friendship Junior High principal begins on July 1, 2019.
