Congratulations to Class of 2015 Graduates
On June 4 and 5, 749 eighth-grade students graduated from Friendship, Grove, and Holmes Junior High Schools in Community Consolidated School District 59 (CCSD59). Next year, these students will move up to District 214 and attend Elk Grove, Rolling Meadows, and Prospect High Schools in the fall.
“We couldn’t be more proud of our graduates and all that they have accomplished in their eight years with the district,” said Dr. Art Fessler, CCSD59 Superintendent of Schools. “As they move on to high school and beyond, we know that they will be well-prepared for the exciting challenges that lie ahead for them in every aspect of their lives. They have worked hard to acquire the tools that will make them successful, and we want them to know that, even after they leave junior high school, they will always have the full support of their schools and their community behind them.”
CCSD59’s mission is to prepare students to be successful for life. Long term initiatives that support innovative learning district-wide are experienced and improved by each grade level and class. The many accomplishments of the CCSD59 2015 graduates demonstrate this cumulative effect of continuous improvement. Throughout the school year, the creativity and problem-solving abilities the graduates have shown demonstrate they are preparing for life in the 21st century and are on a path towards success..
“We are very excited about the successes we’ve had as a district this year, as they are reflected in the outstanding achievements of our graduating students,” said Dr. Fessler. “But there are always greater challenges to tackle. As we look forward to the future, our challenges center around the ever-quickening pace of change in the world of education. As we continue to nurture our younger students, we must always be mindful of how quickly the world is changing, which prompts us to constantly be thinking about how we can most effectively equip our students to be prepared for a job market that may look completely different eight years from now. We have exciting plans in place to address these challenges, and we look forward to the work ahead to ensure that all CCSD59 students are prepared to be successful in life.”
