Letter from the PrincipalLetter from the Principal(es)

marybeth-webDear John Jay Families:

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter to you as the Principal of John Jay Elementary School for the 2015-2016 school year. In my second year as principal at John Jay, I look forward to again working with the John Jay students, staff, and community. Our students receive a high quality education and our school has been recognized for its academic program and achievements. We will continue to foster a safe and supportive environment through our PBIS program and we will continue to ensure that our students are prepared for success in life as we focus our work to provide exciting and challenging opportunities of learning for all students.

Prior to joining John Jay Elementary School, I worked as a curriculum coordinator in the District 59 Instruction Department. Previously, I served as the curriculum director for the Mendota High School and Elementary School Districts and as a math teacher and leader at the junior high level in central Illinois. My educational background includes a B. S. in Secondary Education Mathematics, and Masters Degrees in Educational Administration and Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois.

The new school year is always an exciting time. Our dedicated and outstanding staff is committed to ensuring the John Jay Mission: To Build a Community of 21st Century Learners, where every child will learn and grow. I am grateful to you for allowing us to be a part of your life and the lives of your children. I look forward to getting to know you and appreciate the opportunity to team with you to support your child’s success.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mary Beth Niles
Principal
